Mouse upscale iconic Raser, the Mamba has an update allowing it to benefit from the new 4G sensor manufacturer: program a dual laser technology / optical and precision 6400 dpi!

Design and Ergonomics [/ anchor]

No surprise, Razer Mamba does not revolutionize a design standpoint. The mouse features quite generous dimensions (maybe even a little too much for little hands) and is optimized only for the right hand. Razer had apparently he called left-handed players to express their interest for Mamba Left, but nothing concrete came out for a moment.

The grip of the mouse is  affected by the thumb and the little finger parts: it is not likely to slip from your fingers during a game. Boxing mouse into the category average weight and 138 g, it is lighter than the Logitech G700 or the Gigabyte Ghost weighted.

As always with Razer, the wheel is notched, broad and precise, without moving horizontally however. Regarding the extra buttons, no change either: they are always 4 Two on the left side of the left mouse button, falling in the index, and two on the left edge, falling on the go.. Good point: they are large enough to not require contortion, and also benefit from a non-slip coating.

Skiing is impeccable, provided by three pads at the ends, and central pad around the sensor. Undoubtedly one of the most pleasant to handle than it has been in the hands mouse!

As the Naga Epic, the Mamba is a hybrid wired mouse / wireless: the cable to the mini-USB format can be connected to the recharging base, but also to the mouse itself. Be careful, however: the system hugs the shape of two-fixation devices, but it will be entirely impossible to connect a standard USB cable.

Small detail that kills the recharging base, like a mouse wheel are backlit and agree between them. Guaranteed when reloading effect: Mamba is also a beautiful object when not in use. Moreover, the exquisite taste of Razer welcomes you to the packaging of the mouse: a true work of art.

The main novelty of the Mamba 4G lies precisely in its 4G sensor, a new Razer, which is a dual optical sensor / laser. The mouse sensitivity is affected: Razer reaches 6,400 dpi, a figure that appear excessive for most players. The reporting rate is 1000 Hz, acceleration of 50 G, and Razer announces a response time of one millisecond.

                     Drivers [/ anchor]

The Razer drivers are splendid and the Mamba obviously not an exception. The options are arranged in tabs with clear headings, and the look of the interface is simple enough to be readable.

All buttons can be configured to explicitly defined activities (sensitivity adjustment, scrolling, profile changes, activating a temporary "sensitivity" for delicate passages or snipe ...), or macros, with a comprehensive editor. It can record keystrokes with or without taking into account the length, insert specific delays between individual actions, or a single delay between each action.

The mouse can have configured with five different profiles stored on its internal memory. Side performance tuning, so you can adjust the sensitivity up to five levels of 6400 dpi and change the take-off distance, which allows you to set how distance between the sensor and the surface (mm) mouse have disconnected. This feature has designed for players making long movements requiring repositioning of the mouse on the pad. The range may be set manually or automatically based on the detection of the surface used. The reporting rate can be lowered to 125 or 500 Hz or kept at its maximum level of 1 MHz.

Sensitivity can be set independently for the X axis while it can set different sensitivity levels of 5 (again with an X and Y separation possible).

As for the Naga Epic, we can adjust the lighting, which is limited to the mouse wheel on the Mamba, and opt for a fixed color or color cycle, with a full range of choice in Windows. The light level can has adjusted. Finally, we find the same options of power management on the Naga Epic: light reduction in wireless mode, standby after a period of inactivity and flashing wheel below a certain level of battery.

To use [/ anchor]

What about the Mamba in use. Otherwise, it is an excellent precision in wireless mode as wireframe? The response time of the mouse is one ms, and we have not seen disconnection during use in wireless mode. However, it could be quite greedy: count ten hours of battery life.

Innovations 4G sensor honestly they are needed to have an advantage in the game? Frankly, the performance of the Mamba already seem quite sufficient: the response time and the reporting rate are at the top, and the difference between 5600 and 6400 dpi is not sensible. Nevertheless, we imagine that it will make a difference for some "PGM".

Conclusion [/ anchor]

Razer Mamba mouse is undeniably real, but the manufacturer is paying a high price: 129 euros (RRP). Ergonomics is very satisfactory, except perhaps the placement of buttons to the left of the button ... left, not necessarily comfortable to reach with the index. Precision is the appointment, and if the 4G sensor inputs in terms of sensitivity are not obvious, setting off distance can be a plus. We also appreciate, as the Naga Epic, the use of a wired / wireless hybrid mode, even if the receiver / charging base is certainly very stylish, but a bit bulky. Finally, a quality mouse, but will not suit all budgets.
